Day 1. . .

Hey there! Well, this is day 171 (6 months going strong) of my natural hair journey, but only day 1 of my journey with you, my curly comrades. I'm so excited to get going! I've had a lot of inspiration from fantastic curlies all over the Internet, from MissKrisNew on YouTube to CurlyNikki's natural hair blog/forum. I look to these different sites and videos for inspiration. . . inspiration for new styles, and let's face it - inspiration to keep going with my journey. I actually decided to partake on this journey when my beautician told me that I was wasting my money coming to her. Hold it - did SHE just tell ME that I was wasting my money coming to her?!?! Who does that? But I truly thank God that she did and I will forever appreciate her for that because she was honest with me. And you may be thinking that I was this terrible, overbearing, know-it-all client and she just didn't want to deal with me anymore. Well. . . I wasn't and she did want to "deal" with me. But my hair's saving grace (my buddy beautician - who I still attend every so often) just wanted what was best for me and my hair. So why shouldn't I want the best for me and my hair? I do. So - there it is. My "I" story. What's yours?
